PaperClips Editor: Gene Rankey
Managing Editor: Melissa Lester
Corresponding Editor: John Southard
Gene Rankey is the editor of PaperClips. As part of the Kansas Interdisciplinary Carbonates Consortium at the University of Kansas, Gene studies the sedimentology, geomorphology, and stratigraphy of Holocene carbonate systems from across the globe, and their ancient analogs. He has served as editor of JSR, and associate editor of JSR, Geological Society of America Bulletin, and Sedimentology, as a guest editor for the Journal of Geoscience Education, and was an AAPG Distinguished Lecturer. Gene is on the left.
Gary Hampson is co-editor of JSR, and has
been a member of SEPM since 1991. He has been an associate editor of JSR since
2011, and is SEPM Global
Ambassador for the UK (since 2014). He has also served on the editorial boards of
the Journal of the Geological Society of London, Sedimentology, and Basin
Research. Currently, Gary is a
reader in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering, Imperial College
London. Gary’s research has focused on siliciclastic facies analysis and
sequence stratigraphy, and their application to hydrocarbon reservoir
characterization and modeling.
Leslie Melim is co-editor of Journal of Sedimentary Research. An SEPM member since 1988, she has served as JSR Associate Editor for Book Reviews (2001-2004) and as Associate Editor since 2004. She also has served on the editorial board for Sedimentary Geology and FACIES. Currently, Leslie is a professor in the undergraduate-only Geology Department, Western Illinois University. Her research has included the diagenesis of Paleozoic through Neogene carbonates, but now focuses on the geomicrobiology of speleothems, principally those that grow in cave pools.
Melissa Lester studied vertebrate paleontology at the University of Colorado in Bouder and has been with JSR since 2000.
